How to Increase Battery Life of your Android Phone

A smartphone is a mobile phone with an advanced mobile operating system which combines features of a personal computer operating system with other features useful for mobile or handheld use. They typically combine the features of a cell phone with those of other popular mobile devices, such as personal digital assistant (PDA), media player and GPS navigation unit. Most smartphones can access the Internet, have a touchscreen user interface, can run third-party apps, music players and are camera phones.

But with all these brilliant features in smartphones, the battery life of it has always been an issue.

In this blog I will tell you how to increase the battery life of your Android Phones.

1. See what's consuming the battery:

The first thing you should do is,
Go to Setting > Battery and check what applications are using your phone's battery. If you see any application/feature that is not in use, it is recommended turn that feature off or uninstall the application.

2. Turn off the unnecessary home screen widgets and live wallpapers:

Do you know even increasing the number of widgets on your home screen decreases the battery time? Hence, you should remove all the unwanted widgets to save the battery.
Also, the live wallpapers. Live wallpapers do consume a lot of battery. They do look cool but are not suggested to use if you want to improve the battery life of your phone.

3. Turn off the Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth etc:

Now, almost all the smart phones have Wi-Fi, Data Connection, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth etc in them. It is recommended that only turn these features on when required. If not turned off, they use battery in the background which is not good.

4. Reduce E-mail, Twitter, and Facebook polling:

Set your various messaging apps to "manual" for the polling or refresh frequency, just as a test, and you'll instantly extend your device's battery life by a significant amount. Once you see what a difference that makes, try re-enabling just the most important ones, and possibly reducing their polling frequency in the process.

5. Power Saving Mode:

Many latest smartphone have a 'Power Saving' feature in them. If you want an instant increase in battery life, turn the power saving mode on.

6. Reducing the brightness of Screen:

High brightness really does consumes much more battery than one thinks. Hence it is recommended to use low brightness level when you want to save your battery life.

7. Closing Apps running in the background:

Apps running in the background are also a major battery consumer. Close the Apps properly after the use. You might not always know which app is running in the background.
To know, Go to Setting > Apps and then swipe to left. You'll see the background apps. Close the ones which aren't in use.

8. Update your Apps:

Updating all the apps also increases the battery time slightly as well. Even if you configured the phone for automatic updates, some apps still require that you manually install updates. Check for app updates in Google Play by hitting the menu key and going to My Apps.

9. Signal Strength:

Low signal strength of your mobile network also does consume the battery. Save your battery by putting your phone on flight mode when calls, messaging and internet services are not required.

10. Buying a battery case or larger extended battery:

Battery cases combine a hardware enclosure, which protects your phone, with an extended battery that can double your phone's endurance. You can find models compatible with popular Android phones from a variety of manufacturers, such as the Mophie Juice Pack and Incipio Offgrid Battery Backup Case (both for the Samsung Galaxy S4).

So these were some easy methods to increase the battery life of your phone. Hope they works for you.
